With six goal contributions in just five league appearances so far this season, Kyogo Furuhashi has evidently been one of the most in-form players in Scotland of late. Barry Ferguson, however, is not of this opinion.
Indeed the former Rangers midfielder came out with a horrific take that he has not seen the Japan international look to hold up the ball as much this season. He said (Go Radio via The Scottish Sun): “I’m just not seeing that this season. Is that because of the shoulder problem?”

Admittedly Kyogo does have an issue with his shoulder, although holding up the ball and being a physical centre-forward has never been his style. Clearly not clued up on the Celtic striker, Ferguson is all wrong here. Kyogo has been deployed by Rodgers in a deeper role and is even more in the thick of it than usual.
Even if being physical was typical of Kyogo, not being so this season has in no way been of detriment to his form.
The 28-year-old has been one of the Hoops’ foremost assets in 2023/24 up to this point, and he will look to maintain his status as Scottish Premiership top scorer this Saturday away at Livingston.
