Veteran radio pundit and Record Sport columnist Hugh Keevins has dropped a tantalising tidbit that will set the pulses racing among Celtic fans.
According to his sources, Celtic have already sealed a couple of transfer deals, though they’ve yet to break the news to the fans. He revealed, “I’m hearing Celtic have a couple of transfer deals done, but as yet unannounced, and good money has been set aside for more experienced additions to a title-winning squad.”
Very interesting, although Hugh doesn’t appear to know who these players are.
With the retirement of Joe Hart at the end of last season, Celtic are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.
They’re also keen to bolster their attacking options with a new striker. Beyond these key positions, there’s a pressing need to inject some genuine quality into the squad to maintain their dominance in the league and make a mark in Europe.
If the rumours are true and Celtic have indeed secured some new signings, the announcement should be just around the corner.
The club could hold off announcing deals for many reasons. Getting all their ducks in a row for an announcement and all the social media stuff that comes along with it I.e interviews, photoshoots etc.
Could it be because they’re currently at the Euros?
