CONOR GOLDSON let slip a bold claim while talking about this weekend’s Glasgow Derby. The defender revealed he thinks, since joining the Ibrox club, Celtic haven’t outplayed them.
Celtic have won four of the six ties played between the two. Granted the Hampden game sits on its own as a game we never played well in but still won.
Celtic have had a lot of joy in this fixture and the defender making the remark will fire up the Celtic team ahead of the sold out match.
“We had the belief before the cup final, since I have been here every match has been tight and we have never been outplayed in a derby.” Goldson told RecordSport.
“We are all professional players and we have been in these atmospheres at home and in Europe.
“If we start well it works in our favour as it can get nervy. We have to play on this and use it to our advantage.”
Celtic are five points clear at the top of the table with The Rangers having a game in hand – the game provides a chance for Celtic to pull further ahead or for the Ibrox club to close the gap.
Celtic will have to play much better than they did at Hampden and not let The Rangers dictate the play. We absolutely have the players to do damage come 12:30 on Derby Day.
