Ibrox Star Makes Excuses as He Fires Celtic Title Warning

Ibrox player Borna Barasic has fired a title warning to Celtic as he makes excuses for loss of form.

The player has been part of a side who have collapsed domestically since the winter break.

They now find themselves twelve points behind in the title race and out of the Scottish Cup. Celtic have already defeated them in the League Cup earlier this season and the only thing they can hang their hat on is Europe.

It’s bizarre they have raised their game for the Europa League but can’t go out and beat a St Johnstone or a Hearts when the heat is on.

Celtic are in a strong position in the league and we should be taking nothing for granted. However, if this was a Celtic player talking like this while being twelve points behind anyone in the league I’d be telling them to zip it and get on with it.

“We needed that European result, considering we dropped points three times in the league in February.” Barasic told RecordSport.

“Celtic took maximum points so they’re now running away from us with 12 points but we have a game in hand and still have to play them (twice).

“We haven’t given up the fight for the title yet but if we were out of Europe already that would be a bad thing for us because Rangers is a big club with a real army of loyal fans who always ask the most of us.

“Of course they (the fans) are disappointed and unhappy because they’ve been waiting for the league and both we and they were counting on it being this season.

“I repeat, we haven’t given up on it yet, but it will be difficult.

“Scottish clubs, as well as our manager, are known for never surrendering and we’ll do our best to get back into the title fight.

“We’ve had a long and difficult road, we’ve played about 40 matches and it’s only March. That could be one of the reasons for the drop in the last few games.”

Between Euro qualifiers and Europa League, The League and Scottish Cup and the SPFL, Celtic are currently sitting on 51 games played this season.

Barasic can’t be great at math because the Ibrox clubs will be something similar.

Celtic have not let their form slip, even after one off bad results in the middle of long runs. It’s an excuse, we can clearly see when they come close to the summit they choke.
