Ibrox Injury Sweat Ahead of Celtic Cup Final

MICHAEL BEALE has confirmed it’s a race against time for his stat man Malik Tilman as he fights to get fit for the Viaplay Sports Cup Final next weekend.

The loanee has been the side’s best player in recent games, sometimes scrambling the three points for The Rangers.

The Ibrox boss says he remains optimistic over his absentees returning in time for the showdown.

He said: [Football Scotland]

“Malik’s got a problem with his hamstring, Jacko with his calf and obviously John with his ankle.

“I’m optimistic to think those, plus maybe Scott Arfield, will return to training at the back end of the week but it will be touch and go.”

Celtic are looking to retain the cup, while the Ibrox side have made it their focus, after the manager gave up on the league.

Ange Postecoglou will be relieved that his injury worries have been eased. Kyogo went off injured last weekend, but made the bench for the win over Aberdeen, and got a short run out in the match.

In last year’s league cup final, Kyogo was pivotal, scoring the brace which secured Celtic’s comeback from a goal down to win the trophy.
