Ibrox Derby Too Early But Celtic Park Fixture Could Be Special

Ange Postecoglou couldn’t have asked for a trickier tie in his first domestic outing with Celtic next season. The Hoops will go up against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday July 31 at 8pm.

The only saving grace for Celtic is there will likely not be a full house for the tie. We’re not even sure if fans will be allowed in at all at this point.

The Glasgow Derby at Ibrox takes place early this year at the end of August and while there might be some fans allowed in the door, the capacity will be low.

Fast forward to the next Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park on January 2nd 2022, there is a much bigger potential for more fans to be allowed into the ground and could be the first derby with maybe half a stadium capacity – if not more.

Everything is fluid when it comes to what level Glasgow might be in at any given time, but you have to imagine the further away the tie, the better chance of more fans attending.
