Ibrox Club Let New Celtic Star Slip Through Their Fingers; Moore Confirms

AARON MOOY had trained with Rangers ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifiers and had even been recommended to the club, claims Craig Moore.

The Aussie midfielder then made the move to Celtic months later, with Ange signing the free agent this summer, adding quality depth to his midfield.

When asked on Go Radio if Craig Moore had recommended him to Rangers, he was honest and admitted he had and hoped that the Ibrox club would give him a deal.

The former Aussie international also revealed that Aaron Mooy had participated in some of the Ibrox club’s training sessions before his country’s World Cup qualifier against Peru in June.

“I did recommend him to Rangers. He was someone I pushed Ross Wilson to go and have a look at.

“Rangers were kind enough to actually, pre-World Cup qualifiers against Peru, to get some training into him, and I was hoping there could be a little bit more than that!

“It didn’t work out, but Ange knows Aaron very, very well. He stays in Bearsden, and it was an easy decision in the end.”

Aaron Mooy at Celtic

Mooy has been superb when he’s played in green and white, especially in the midweek win over Ross County. He played the full ninety minutes, and the class oozed out of him; he was tremendous.

Having him as a backup to our midfield is class; it shows the top quality that Celtic has in the middle of the pitch.

Thankfully for Celtic fans, Rangers made a mistake and didn’t sign the player up, and Celtic managed to get him on their books and add a top-quality player to their squad.
