‘I Wouldn’t Bother’ – Sutton Brutally Trolls Rangers Ahead of Glasgow Derby

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has once again brought his trademark humour to the table, this time jokingly telling his It’s All Kicking Off Podcast co-host Ian Ladyman not to bother attending the upcoming Glasgow Derby on March 16th at Celtic Park.

Sutton’s comments come following Rangers’ poor run of form, which has seen them lose three consecutive games at Ibrox against Queen’s Park, St Mirren, and Motherwell.

Sutton Pokes Fun at Rangers’ Recent Struggles

Sutton, never one to shy away from a bit of banter, joked that the Glasgow Derby wouldn’t be competitive at all, given the recent struggles of Rangers. “I wouldn’t bother with Celtic and Rangers. They’ve got one in a couple of weeks, but that’s all done,” Sutton joked: (It’s All Kicking Off Podcast). His light-hearted comments came after Rangers’ form has taken a turn for the worse, with their recent consecutive defeats at home raising more questions about the Ibrox side.

The former Hoops forward’s comments were, of course, delivered in a joking manner, but there’s no denying the confidence with which he spoke about Celtic’s chances in the upcoming derby, especially given the current state of both teams.

Glasgow Derby Less Competitive?

While Sutton was light-hearted in his comments about the Glasgow Derby, Celtic fans will undoubtedly be confident going into the match against Rangers, especially with the current gap in form between the two teams. However, as always in football, anything can happen on the day. Despite Sutton’s witty banter, both teams will be aware of the intensity and importance of the fixture, with Celtic aiming to extend their lead in the Scottish Premiership.

As the game draws nearer, all eyes will be on Celtic Park to see whether Sutton’s prediction of a one-sided Glasgow Derby will come true. For now, though, it’s clear that Sutton is enjoying the moment, especially when it comes to teasing his co-host about the upcoming game.
