“I was flattered when I heard about Celtic watching me” – Pavlovic Latest

Strahinja Pavlovic has made comment after he found out Celtic manager Neil Lennon was personally scouting him at the first leg of Partizan’s Europa League qualifier against Connah’s Quay.

Neil Lennon was spotted in the crowd during the match in Wales and many outlasts believed the Irishman was there to scout the 18-year-old defender who has also caught the eye of Juventus.

Speaking to RecordSport about Celtic’s potential interest, the youngster admitted he was flattered.

“I was flattered when I heard about Celtic watching me in Wales. But for me I have to only concentrate on my immediate future and that’s at Partizan.

“I’ve got to think I will be at this club for a long time. I can’t afford to get caught up in speculation before the next transfer window.

The player did make the caveat that it’s his dream to play for one of the top sides in Europe in Spain, England and Italy.

There’s no doubt that playing for Celtic puts players in full view of clubs like this.

“My favourite clubs in Europe are Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United. My ambition is to play for one of those teams one day.”

Celtic have brought in Christopher Jullien this season so far and Hatem abd Elhamed can also play at centre-half. Pavlovic certainly fits into Celtic’s transfer policy; buy young, develop and sell on for a top fee.

If Juventus are sniffing about then it could be difficult for Celtic.
