BRENDAN RODGERS may be gone from Scotland but the press are now using the Irishman to get mileage out of the ‘who wants Alfredo Morelos this month’ fantasy stories.
We have had China, EPL, EFL, Ligue one all interested in the star player – yet nobody has made a move – shocking stuff!
When asked about the chances of the former Celtic manager raiding Ibrox for the striker he raised a smile and called it a ‘wind up’
“I think someone is trying to wind someone up.” Rodgers told SunSport.
“I never will comment on speculation of any player.
“My focus is on the group we have now, whether we can focus and get better as a group and then with the summer, we will look to strengthen and improve then.”
Rodgers has his work cut out for him at Leicester after trading immortality for mediocrity a little over a week ago.
If he’s looking for mediocre then we suggest giving Ibrox a call.
There’s no doubt Morelos has the ability but his attitude and inability to do it in the very big games is what makes comparisons between the Ibrox man and Moussa Dembele the biggest wind-up.
