JOE HART came out and faced the cameras after he made the mother of all mistakes in Germany.
The goalkeeper was completely at fault for the second goal when he tried to take the ball out from the back and completely missed his target. The Englishman gifting the ball to Leipzig who didn’t need to be asked twice to find the back of the net.
It came second after Leipzig had a goal chopped off for offside and it was certainly the most pivotal moment of the match. After Leipzig had got in front again, they never looked back and Celtic looked defeated.
Speaking live on BT Sports after the game, Joe said:
“I’m at fault for the second goal, no doubt about it, but that’s the way the manager wants us to play”
“I wasn’t quite sure to go to the centre half or Greg. I went for Greg and I missed”
The goalkeeper taking responsibility but also making it clear his orders aren’t to hit it long. However, if the pass isn’t on, surely you have to use your own common sense.
It was another away performance in Europe where Celtic will be wondering ‘what if’. Leipzig are clearly a talented team and to beat them we had to be at our best, never mind giving them an assist.
