JESSE MARSCH has put himself firmly in Celtic fans sights today by not rejecting any link with Celtic but going into detail about potentially becoming the manager.
Speaking to BBC, Marsch said:
“Three or four years ago, being linked with a club like Celtic would literally be an impossibility for me. And now that this is where I am, I always just try to look at it in terms of, ‘what would the project look like?’
“Would we have similar ideas in how to build it the right way, invest in the academy, invest in young players and create this development process that I’m talking about? And not just focus on winning.
“Obviously I know that when you’re the coach of Celtic, winning is the most important thing.”
I’ve been familiar with the coach for some time but for people who have only heard his name in passing, here is a short Q&A from the Salzburg coach.
I guarantee after watching this you will be impressed.
Celtic are on the lookout for a permanent Neil Lennon replacement and a shakeup from top to bottom is going to happen.
A guy like Jesse Marsch would be such a welcome departure from Neil Lennon and the way he did things. The coach wants to create a culture at any club he goes to and make sure youth development is taken care of.
Neil Lennon was a game to game guy, he didn’t look at the bigger picture and he gave youngsters very little hope of making the breakthrough into our first team.
We need a manager who can coach these players, instil confidence and bring them through when they’re ready.
I hope Celtic are watching!
