‘I have to get this guy’ – Ange Reveals First Thing he Told Celtic

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed that he was confident Kyogo would be a success in Scotland, bringing him from Japan to Glasgow.

Celtic fans were cautious about the move; they hadn’t heard much about the J-League and weren’t sure what to expect from their new striker.

From his experiences coaching in Japan, Ange was sure he’d be a success in Scotland and was keen to bring the player over to Celtic as soon as he could.

Opening up on the Kyogo transfer, Ange told the Scottish Football Sessions podcast he had to get the Visel Kobe striker to Celtic as soon as he could.

Kyogo was the least risky out of all of them [the players brought from Japan]. I was so confident bout him. I had watched him; even though I hadn’t coached him, I coached against him. My team, even the year we won the championship, I remember talking to my players, and the defenders always said he’s the one player they just couldn’t handle.

“He was the first one I said as soon as I got the job ‘I have to get this guy’. He was the least risk for me.”

It’s been a superb addition to the Celtic side. The current top scorer in the league is in terrific form – he can’t stop scoring. The signing of Kyogo has been one of the best in Celtic’s recent history.

It just shows Ang knows what he’s doing and will only bring players to Scotland if he’s sure they can be successful.
