Celtic defeated Hearts by four goals to one at Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon in a deserved victory. The Bhoys were on form in the win and their early season displays have led many to draw comparisons between them and the invincibles team.
Indeed Brendan Rodgers was asked about this post-match. He said (BBC Sport Scotland): “I don’t see that. People say it’s a stronger league now than when I was here the first time around but I don’t see that. Aberdeen were a good team then, Hearts were competitive, Stevie Clarke with Kilmarnock was competitive and very good so it’s a different timeline.”

It is difficult to simply compare two Celtic teams who have been successful in different eras. Many will proceed to do this, however, but Rodgers has remained coy on the topic.
The Irishman will not be hounded into a definitive answer, and he likely will never give one. The level of both teams, though, and the quality with which they play their football is undeniable.
