‘I Don’t Regret it’ – Brendan Rodgers Faces Celtic Exit Head On

BRENDAN RODGERS has told the media that he doesn’t regret his decision to leave the club in 2019, but he does regret the hurt it caused among the Celtic support.

Speaking for the first time in front of the media as the manager of Celtic once again, the Irishman was inevitably asked about the way he left and the fans’ reaction.

Speaking on Celtic TV, Brendan said: “When I left, it was a sad moment. I don’t regret it; what I do regret is the hurt that it caused people. As a Celtic supporter, I understood what it meant, probably even more so when I left. That was my regret.”

“It was a sad time because of the relationship I had built up. Despite what I’ve read and what I hear and I wouldn’t be sat here today if I didn’t have the relationship with the guys around the table.”

Celtic fans have been mostly supportive of Brendan’s return. Many see it as water under the bridge as well as seeing Rodgers as the best man for the job at this moment in time.

There was a massive outcry and many hurt feelings when he left midway through the season, but time can heal all wounds. And if there are still sceptics, then winning games will be the way to get them on board.

It’s going to be an interesting summer and a very interesting season as Brendan looks to build on Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The bhoys go into the season looking to defend all three trophies won under the Australian, and as we know, Brendan is quite partial to a treble.
