It was in the final day of the transfer window it was announced that Ross County had managed to pull off an astute signing and convince Celtic to let Ewan Henderson make a season long loan move to Dingwall.
The player popped up now and again last season for both Rodgers then Lennon before fading away nearer the end of the campaign. The player had been in and around the first team all summer and was getting on the bench in some instances this term.
However, with no guarantee of first team football, there was only one thing Ewan wanted to do and that was to leave in search of getting more experience.
Ross County offered the player a platform and like his brother Liam he’s jumped at the opportunity to leave the sweet life at Celtic to pursue first team football. Lucky for us, it’s only on loan!
Speaking about the move, Henderson shares the same traits as Liam – both top professionals who will not sit idle and wait for a chance – they want to take and make their own chances.
“I could have stayed at Celtic, I trained with the first team every day and played a couple of games.” Henderson told SunSport.
“But I felt that, for the good of my career I needed to play games.”
“The managers at County have been amazing for me, so positive.
“They’ve helped me on and off the pitch and been superb. The team spirit is unbelievable at County, We go for meals, go for coffee after training.
Celtic will be watching me all the time. I’m just working hard to do as well as possible.”
Henderson was not eligible to play against his parent club at the weekend and watched as Celtic ripped Ross County apart at Celtic Park.
Have three appearances under his belt for County so fay, the midfielder will be desperate to become more of an influence on the team in the coming months.
