“I care so much” – Greg Taylor Speaks About His Celtic Dressing Room Role

Celtic defender Greg Taylor bagged his second goal of the season in the Hoops’ dominant 3-0 victory over St. Mirren on Tuesday evening. The Scotland international brilliantly finished past Zach Hemming after a wonderfully lobbed pass from Paulo Bernardo.

It was a rare strike for Taylor who claims he is a big member of the Celtic dressing room: “I say my piece”, he said (The Celtic Way). “I’m sure I do a lot of the boys’ nuts in but that’s just because I care so much. I want us as a team to show what we are capable of and also to bring success.”

Having been at Celtic for four and a half years and made over 150 appearances in green and white, Taylor knows exactly what Celtic is about. He appears to be a key leader in the squad alongside the likes of Callum McGregor and James Forrest.

For manager Brendan Rodgers, having players like the 26-year-old in the team is pivotal, not just to help the new players learn about the club and its values, but to ensure said morals are retained.

Although he may be replaced on the park by a better left-back, what Taylor brings off it in terms of leadership and guidance is difficult to restore.
