Brendan Rodgers has spoken about the club’s transfer plans ahead of a key Champions League play-off.
The Hoops will face either Kairat or Slovan Bratislava, with the second leg between those sides taking place next week.

Kairat hold the advantage after a 1-0 win over Slovan in Kazakhstan, putting them in a strong position going into the return match. Celtic will be keeping a close watch on that tie as they prepare for their own big European test.
With Thursday’s deadline for adding players to the squad in this round, there has been plenty of talk about possible signings. Rodgers says there is no news for now but has been clear on the areas he wants to strengthen.
He said: (Sky Sports), “No news now [on signings].
“I want Celtic to live in the best possible place….For me that is signing players at the top end of the pitch, but I can’t magic them there”.
With the registration deadline for this round still a little way off, Celtic are not under immediate pressure to finalise new signings before Thursday’s deadline. The focus for now is on who they will face in the play-off, with Kairat leading Slovan 1-0 ahead of their second leg later this week.
Rodgers has confirmed there is no update on any incoming players, but he has been clear about the type of additions he wants. His priority remains strengthening the attack, adding more options in the final third.

He admitted, however, that bringing in the right quality is not straightforward, especially with the season already under way. The search for the right fit continues in the background while preparations for Europe take centre stage.
Celtic will know their opponents shortly, but Rodgers is already planning for a high-stakes tie, with the aim of keeping the squad competitive at both domestic and European level.
