A few weeks ago, Victor Wanyama told the Celtic support he has unfinished business at Celtic Park while speaking to the Athletic.
The Kenyan left Celtic for the Premier League a long time ago and now finds himself in the MLS with Canadian side Montreal.
Although the defensive midfielder just moved to Canada in January – the talk of his potential Celtic return is already gaining momentum after his latest interview. Speaking to Football Insider, ex-Aberdeen and Leeds United striker Noel Whelan believes Victor WILL make his way back to Celtic Park before all is said and done.
“I can see him going back. Neil Lennon knows what he is all about and the fans would love to have him back again.” Whelan told Football Insider.
“He was very successful when he was up there at Celtic Park. He is a player that knows what Scottish football is all about – it will not be a surprise to him when he goes to Dundee, Kilmarnock and all of these places. He has been there and done it.”
“It is a huge club. Playing in the Champions League, which he has been doing in the past few seasons at Tottenham. He will bring experience and power to their midfield.”
Victor was part of a strong Celtic side under Neil Lennon the first time around.
We know some fans say never go back BUT when you have Neil Lennon in the dugout and Fraser Forster putting on world class displays – it’s hard to argue against some top class talent finding their way back to Celtic.
