Hyeon-gyu Oh Exit Latest; Genk Step up Pursuit

KRC Genk is reportedly intensifying its pursuit of Celtic striker Hyeon-gyu Oh, with an increased offer placed aimed at securing the South Korean forward’s services.

This development comes after initial negotiations that saw an offer of approximately £4.2 million being tabled for the 23-year-old last week.

Oh, who joined Celtic from Suwon Bluewings for £2.5 million 18 months ago, has struggled to find consistent form at Parkhead, leading Celtic to consider offloading him.

Belgian journalist Bob Faesen of HLN Sport reports that Genk, eager to bolster their attacking options, has now increased their initial offer for Hyeon-gyu Oh in hopes of finalising the transfer.

The exact details of the improved bid have not been disclosed by the journalist.

If the transfer goes through, and it seems that it will with the forward pushing for it, it will leave Celtic with just one striker. Kyogo has pledged to continue scoring goals for Celtic, while reports of Adam Idah making a Celtic return after his loan move have slowed down, with his new gaffer wanting to see him in pre-season before making a decision on him.
