Huddersfield Appoint Ex-Celtic Midfielder as Manager

MARK FOTHERINGHAM has been named the manager of English Championship club Huddersfield.

The former Celtic midfielder spent some of last season as the assistant manager at Hertha Berlin and was linked to a job in the Bundesliga this term, but has instead opted to move back to the UK and manage Huddersfield.

It’s his first time in a manager’s job, stepping up from his previous assistant roles. However, he did manage in a win last season, with manager Felix Magath isolating with the Coronavirus.

The 38-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club and is currently working towards his UEFA Pro License.

Despite only finalising his contract on Wednesday morning, Mark had led Tuesday’s training session as he looks to lift the side from the relegation zone. Huddersfield town has only registered two wins this season and picked up another point from a draw. They’ve lost their other six games.

It’s set to be a tough job for the manager, but he’ll have total belief in his abilities to turn the side’s form around.
