Hibs Face Injury Sweat; Boss For Final Announced – Maloney Latest

CELTIC face Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup Final on Sunday at Hampden Park. Both sides have injury worries heading into the game. Last night, the Edinburgh side were in action against Dundee where a spectacular own goal from Paul Mullen was enough to gift Hibs three points.

However, during the game frontman Kevin Nisbet was forced off injured, Chris Cadden also left the field injured. The extent of their injuries is still to be confirmed, however, David Gray said to The Scotsman that he doesn’t believe the injuries are too serious.

“I am hoping it is more fatigue because they have both played in a lot of games as it has been a congested fixture list.

“The good news is that they walked off the pitch, which is always pleasing. We will get them assessed and move on from there.

For the final, David Gray is set to take charge of the Hibees. The caretaker manager was appointed after Jack Ross’ dismissal. Former Celtic star Shaun Maloney is set to take over the side ‘within 48 hours’ [Daily Record] but will not sit in the dugout for the match.
