NEIL LENNON sprung a surprise at the weekend when he handed a debut to Stephen Welsh for the Hamilton game.
The youngster has been doing well in the developmental side but his inclusion did come more out of necessity than natural progression. With the Celtic boss playing with three centre backs and having Jozo, Bitton and Elhamed out for now – he turned to his young squad.
Celtic went behind in the game but would eventually get the job done and run out 4-1 winners against the home side. One of our social media team posted a fan video of Edouard’s free kick to draw the game level and it caught Welsh’s reaction which the support loved.
There could be more game time coming up for the young bhoy from Coatbridge in the near future with a game against Motherwell coming up on Wednesday.
These fans seem all for the bhoy getting an extended run of games to see if he can make a name for himself.
Stephen Welsh looked very composed today. Great debut big future
