CHRIS SUTTON has leaked the Celtic side that’s supposed to start against Leipzig this evening on social media.
The former Celtic striker posted the ‘unofficial’ Celtic starting XI doing the rounds in Germany at the moment, and that side does not include Filip Benkovic.
.@btsportfootball The unofficial Celtic team doing the rounds for tonight… Gordon,Gamboa,Boyata,Simunovic Tierney,Kouassi,Mcgregor,Ntcham, Morgan, Christie, Edouard …
Brown , Benkovic and Forrest big losses…— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) October 25, 2018
The pundit is on the ground in Germany ahead of the tie and must have gotten some word from the Celtic camp as to the expected starting XI.
If this team is right then it’s a big night ahead for Kouassi, Christie and Morgan in particular.
Three players who would not have gotten onto the pitch if it wasn’t for extenuating circumstances.
Many fans have been desperate to see what Lewis Morgan do with a start, and if it comes against Leipzig tonight, it will be a severe acid test for the Championship player of the year.
Christie’s Celtic contract is up in the summer, and he must now show his worth to the Celtic manager if he is to win an extended stay with the club.
Kouassi has never been given a proper run in the side; if he has a good performance tonight, he has a run of three weeks without Scott Brown breathing down his neck to prove he can be the man to replace him long term.
Of course, this could be a false starting XI but if there are changes to this side – it won’t be significant.
