Half-Time: Celtic 1-0 Slovan Bratislava – Liam Scales Heads Hoops Ahead At The Break

Celtic have controlled much of the game in what has been a dominant and impressive first 45 minutes.

The key moment of the first-half came in the 17th minute when Liam Scales headed the Hoops ahead from an Arne Engels corner, giving Celtic a well-deserved lead.

Scales has been a standout performer and capitalised on the well taken corner from Engels.

The Irishman is a constant threat from set pieces and arguably Celtic’s best chance of scoring from corners.

His ability to evade his marker makes him a great target for Engels when he goes up for corners.

Bratislava have struggled to keep up with Celtic’s pressure, with the Bhoys keeping their defence under constant pressure.

The game has been feisty, with several yellow cards handed out.

Alistair Johnston saw yellow for a tackle, and referee Danny Makkelie has been strict in maintaining control in the game.

Celtic have looked dangerous from set-pieces, and Engels has been a standout yet again.

Overall, Celtic’s strong start and the home support have set the tone for a positive first-half, with Brendan Rodgers hopeful that the Hoops can add to their lead in the second half.
