Lecce has renewed their interest in Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke, proposing a loan deal with an option to purchase, reports Sky Sports‘ Anthony Joseph.

The Serie A club’s previous attempt to secure Lagerbielke on loan in January was interrupted just before the transfer deadline due to an injury to Celtic’s Cameron Carter-Vickers, which necessitated keeping Lagerbielke in the squad.
Despite staying at Celtic after the failed January transfer, Lagerbielke did not see any game time in the subsequent months.
Expressing dissatisfaction with his lack of playing minutes, Lagerbielke has publicly voiced his desire to leave in search of more regular football, despite having joined Celtic less than a year ago.
Lagerbielke had a moment of triumph with Celtic, scoring the winning goal against Feyenoord in December, which marked Celtic’s first Champions League home victory in more than ten years.
It’s been clear that despite his contributions and decent displays, Brendan Rodgers isn’t keen on the defender, and he’ll likely depart this summer.
