LEIGH GRIFFITHS was the hero tonight as Scotland beat Malta to give themselves a great chance of a play-off place for the World Cup.
The Celtic striker assisted in the first goal and scored the second to prove how vital he’s becoming to the Scotland set-up.
However, when he was through on goal in the second half the player pulled up and was substituted.
With Celtic fans anxious about the striker’s condition with a game against Hamilton on Friday night, Gordon Strachan gave us a quick update.
“He has a tight calf,” Said the Scotland gaffer.
“So he was a threat, hopefully, he’ll be fine for the game next week. They’ve got a game on Friday but I think the big one with due respect to Hamilton will be the next one.”
If Strachan is correct then there could be a very early debut for Edouard who just signed on-loan for Celtic last week. The youngster could get the nod with Brendan having a previous history of protecting Leigh for the bigger games.
