Greg Taylor Thrilled to See Ex-Celtic Mate at PAOK

Greg Taylor has expressed his delight at reuniting with ex-Celtic teammate Jonjoe Kenny after the pair linked up once more at Greek side PAOK.

The Scotland left-back recently completed his move to the Super League side and was quick to highlight the comfort of seeing a familiar face in a new environment.

Taylor and Kenny previously shared the pitch at Parkhead during the 2020/21 campaign, when the English full-back joined Celtic on loan from Everton. While the spell was short-lived, the duo clearly struck a strong rapport both on and off the field.

Now back together in Thessaloniki, Taylor admitted Kenny’s presence has helped ease his transition to a new league and a fresh challenge. The 27-year-old is expected to play a key role for PAOK this season as they push domestically and in Europe.

While reconnecting with Kenny is a bonus, Taylor was also keen to stress his commitment to integrating fully with the rest of the squad, as he settles into life in Greek football.

He said: (PAOK), “Obviously, Jonjoe signed this season.

“We played together at Celtic previously, so it’s nice to have a familiar face in the changing room. But I’m also looking forward to meeting the rest of the guys in the team.”

Taylor’s move to PAOK marks the next step in a career that has seen him lift multiple trophies at Celtic. His switch abroad is seen as a bold but calculated move, offering a new set of challenges both on and off the park.

Kenny, who signed permanently for PAOK earlier in the summer, will be a useful ally for Taylor as he adapts to the demands of Greek football. The pair’s understanding from their time at Celtic could also prove valuable on the pitch.

PAOK are preparing for a European qualifying campaign and domestic competition, where Taylor’s experience in pressure situations could be crucial.

With the season approaching, Taylor looks determined to make his mark and settle quickly into his new surroundings. The reunion with Kenny may just be the spark that helps him hit the ground running.
