Greg Taylor Praises ‘Remarkable’ Celtic Star

GREG TAYLOR has been brilliant since he returned from injury in the first half of the season. The left-back had come under scrutiny; however, on the whole, his performances have been great. With only his performance against Bodo/Glimt at home standing out as poor.

The player is consistently called up to the national team but rarely makes an appearance, with the former Celtic trio of Tierney, Robertson and Hickey above Taylor in the pecking order. Teammate, Callum McGregor, is a starter for Steve Clarke’s side.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Taylor was full of Parise for Callum McGregor, saying;

“I think his [McGregor’s] consistency over the last six or seven years has been pretty remarkable. The number of matches he churns out at a high level is top class.

“We are good friends, and we don’t hide that. But more importantly for the club, he is a top-class player and a top-class captain.

“He is following one of the greatest captains in the club’s history in Broony, and I think he is doing really well.

“He is the most vocal one and the one that leads us on.

“But, equally, there are five or six of us behind him that try to chip away and keep the group in line and keep doing what has brought us success. We will continue to do that.”

McGregor has been consistently brilliant over the past few years. At one point, he had played the most minutes in Europe.

In his first season as Celtic captain, McGregor has led his side to a domestic double, regaining their league title at the first time of asking.

He’s impressed many Celtic fans this season after there was doubt surrounding his ability to lead the team this season. He’s led by example and silenced the doubters.
