Greg Taylor’s future at Celtic looks increasingly uncertain with PAOK’s technical director Christos Karipidis revealing the Greek side are simply “awaiting the formal part” of a deal to sign the left-back.
The 27-year-old is out of contract this summer and is reportedly currently on holiday in Dubai after helping Celtic secure a domestic double.

Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he’d like Taylor to stay, but Kieran Tierney’s permanent move from Arsenal has changed things at left-back. With Tierney likely to be first choice, Taylor could see less game time if he decides to stay at Celtic.
PAOK have been circling for some time and are understood to have tabled a two-year contract offer, with the option of a third, that would surpass Taylor’s current reported terms at Celtic. Their interest now appears to have moved to an advanced stage, with Karipidis speaking to Greek outlet Alpha, he said: “We are simply awaiting the formal part.”
Taylor has made over 150 appearances for Celtic since joining from Kilmarnock in 2019 and has been a regular under three managers, including Rodgers. However, the prospect of playing abroad and taking on a new challenge could be tempting as he considers his next move.
From Celtic’s point of view, Taylor’s possible exit would leave Brendan Rodgers with alternative options at left-back. Liam Scales is capable of filling in on the left, though he’s featured more regularly at centre-back in recent seasons. Celtic B’s Mitchel Frame is another option, but neither offers the experience Taylor brings.

With Tierney expected to be first-choice, the club would likely look to bring in another left-back if Taylor doesn’t re-sign. Given Tierney’s injury history in recent years, Celtic will need someone reliable who can step in whenever required.
Taylor’s decision is expected soon, with PAOK pushing to finalise the deal as they gear up for Europa League qualifiers later this summer. If he leaves, it would bring an end to six successful years at Celtic, filled with trophies and a steady impact in domestically.
