The Green Brigade have already smashed past their initial 5k target to raise funds for two refugee organisations after UEFA’s latest charge against the club was revealed.
Celtic are facing a fine for standing up to fascism at Celtic Park against Lazio with the official UEFA reasoning being illicit banners and chants came from the Celtic support.
In response to the ludicrous charge the Green Brigade have set up a fundraising page ‘football against fascism’ a fundraiser which will go towards two refugee charities; one in Glasgow and the other in Rome.
Celtic supporters are world renowned for their inclusivity and the right wing element of the Lazio support who brought their unwanted views to Glasgow last week flies in the face of what the club stands for.
It’s absolutely right we shout down fascism wherever and whenever we see it. Hopefully these charities can benefit from UEFA choosing to take action against Celtic much like the Palestinian aid charity got a whopping £176k from a Green Brigade fundraiser after Celtic we’re charged for fans waving Palestine flags.
