The Green Brigade has resurrected their old Peter Lawwell out banner and have been bringing it to games since the former chief executive took over as chairman at the beginning of January.
The banner which was born during the pandemic season when everything started to unravel is back on the terraces as the group protest Peter’s return to the Celtic fold.
Resigning as Chief Executive 18 months prior, Peter retreated into the shadows shortly before Ange Postecoglou was officially in the door at Celtic. It’s our understanding Peter was the man to recommend the Australian to majority shareholder Dermot Desmond.
In Peter’s absence, Dominic Mckay took over his position but would last just three months before being shown the door. Michael Nicholson took over on a temporary basis before getting the job full time. Nicholson is now in Peter’s old job while Lawwell sits at the head of the table at board meetings.
It’s clear the Green brigade disapprove of Lawwell’s return.

The Chairman role is more hands off and low key than Peter’s previous role at the club. However, he will be on hand later this year at Celtic’s AGM and will likely be active for the club in his role at the ECA as well as representing the Hoops at SFA and SPFL level.
