Greek Based Journo Backs Up Giakouamkis Claim

GIORGOS GIAKOUAMKIS hasn’t stopped scoring since he burst into the team in January. The Greek striker has been incredible and is even scoring in his short run-outs from the bench.

When Kyogo was injured, it was Giakouamkis’ chance to step up to the plate and deliver; it’s safe to say he did just that. He finished the season as the top scorer in the league, not bad for a player who had only scored once before the January break.

Giannis Chorianopoulos has revealed that Giakouamkis has been scouted by Premier League and Championship clubs since his breakthrough to the Celtic team. However, the journalist admitted it would be ‘difficult’ to strike a deal for the player this window.

Celtic is keen to keep all of the players that contributed last season, especially Giakouamkis, who has an important role to play within the Celtic team. The Bhoys are not willing to lose Giakouamkis; it’d have to be a substantial offer for Celtic to consider selling the Greek international.

This backs up Fabrizio Romano’s update from last week where he branded the Celtic striker ‘untouchable’ when it comes to his transfer status.
