‘Great to Be Back in Glasgow’ – Ange Reflects on Previous Celtic Success at Ibrox

Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed how delighted he is to be back in Glasgow with Tottenham tonight, as Spurs take on Rangers at Ibrox in the Europa League.

Postecoglou, who masterminded five trophies out of six during his time at Celtic, went from being a doubted unknown to one of the best Hoops managers in recent memory.

While there were doubts over his abilities in England, Celtic supporters know that, at times, it doesn’t always go perfectly, but when it works, it works sensationally under the Australian.

Speaking before tonight’s game, he revealed just how happy he is to have returned to a ground where he enjoyed success with Celtic during his spell in Glasgow.

He said: (TNT Sports),”We need some energy, especially coming here to Ibrox, and I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s one where you enjoy it, knowing you can survive it, and if you do get a victory, it’s one you remember because they are well earned.

“Nothing is given here. Looking forward to it—great to be back in Glasgow.”

With Ange receiving so much criticism at Tottenham, a club that has historically struggled to win trophies, it is a process that will take years, not just a season, to build a new culture at the North London club.

Some have even predicted that if he doesn’t win against Rangers this evening, he will be sacked.

But those who watched Celtic under Ange will know just how much they will look to attack, and given the players at his disposal against Philippe Clement’s side, it could very well be a humbling at Ibrox before the League Cup final on Sunday for Clementa.
