Government Set to Deliver Major Scottish Football Blow

As we expected, the Scottish Govermnent are about to pull the plug on any fan return to the game in the next few months.

Nicola Sturgeon will address parliament just after 2pm on Tuesday and address the nation around 8pm.

It’s expected new and more strict lockdown measures will be put in place although a full March type lockdown has seemingly been ruled out.

For Scottish football, it means we can continue on the field but not from the stands.

There was hope test events and progress would lead to some supporters returning but due to the spike in cases, everything is being shelved.

It’s highly unlikely fans will be in football grounds this season never mind this year.

A body blow for clubs who rely on matchday revenue to keep going.

We await to see what the First Minister has planned later today but get comfortable, you’ll be watching football from your couch for quite some time.
