A former manager is about to become a senior advisor for our new manager Ange Postecoglou according to reports this evening.

SunSport are reporting Gordon Strachan will begin a new role with Celtic as early as tomorrow.

This has been touted for quite some time but it has always been denied by club officials. We know Dermot Desmond is a huge fan of Gordon from his time at Celtic — it does feel like something Desmond would implement.

Also the fact this story has broken in the Scottish Sun also makes it more likely this has been a Dermot Desmond call.

Gordon Strachan won three titles on the bounce for Celtic and got them to beyond the group stages of the Champions League.

The former Scotland boss has been working at Dundee for some time and was seen a lot on the Celtic Pass last week.

Someone will have to explain to us what Gordon’s remit will be and hopefully he is there to help Ange and not step on his toes.
