Good News for Celtic’s Adam Montgomery

ADAM MONTGOMERY was in no man’s land earlier this week after his six-month loan spell at St Johnstone ended.

The Celtic youngster made 17 appearances for St Johnstone since making the move back in the summer and is highly thought of at the Perthshire club.

It was assumed the St Johnstone deal would likely carry over into a season-long deal during January. However, Adam was back at Lennoxtown this week, training with the Celtic side with no word on what was next for the full-back.

Tonight, RecordSport report the Celtic academy bhoy IS now on his way back to St Johnstone and will play the remainder of the season with the Premiership side.

It’s great news for Adam, who will now have the chance to get even more first team appearances under his belt before heading back to Celtic in the summer.

Sometimes loans don’t work out so well, but Adama has consistently been played by Callum Davidson and the valuable nature of top flight, first team football will only be of a benefit to Adam and Celtic,
