Many Celtic fans were taken aback by former Hoops striker, Frank McAvennie’s pick for the next Celtic frontman.

We reported earlier today the former Celtic and West Ham man told OpenGoal he would be taking Dundee Utd man Lawrence Shankland over Klimala and Ajeti. Considering he expects Edouard to be off this summer, Frank thinks Shanklan should be Celtic’s number one striker it would appear.

“I WOULD TAKE SHANKLAND.  HE WOULD SCORE GOALS.  LISTEN, TAKE KLIMALA AND TAKE AJETI OUT THE PICTURE, I’D TAKE SHANKLAND. ALL DAY ALL.  ALL DAY LONG.” MCAVENNIE TOLD OPEN GOAL.

Celtic fans have been having their say on our social media pages and it’s safe to say, not many people are on board with the idea od Shankland being a focal point of Celtic’s attack next season.

Edouard enters the final year of his Celtic deal this summer and will likely move on if a decent deal comes in for the Frenchman. The big question is; who will replace him.

Let’s hope Frank doesn’t get put in charge of our scouting system!
