Goal: Celtic Youngster Scores on Debut for Loan Side

It’s the start he would have wanted, hours after signing on-loan for Dundee, Jonathan Afolabi has scored his first goal for the club.

Dundee are taking part in a friendly against Peterhead ahead of the new championship season and Afalobi has got among the goals quickly.

The Irishman has yet to make his first team debut at Celtic and was loaned out to Dunfermline during the second half of last season, however, the pandemic stopped him from getting a proper run at things.

Now at Dundee until the end of the season, the striker has a big opportunity to spearhead a promotion charge for the Dundee side and make it hard for Neil Lennon to ignore him next season.

Jonathan is just one of a number of Celtic hopefuls out on loan this season. The best way for them to get experience is to get game time – something they couldn’t get sitting in developmental.
