Glasgow Derby Blow – Celtic Star Could Miss Pivotal Parkhead Tie

NEIL LENNON has delivered an up to date state of play regarding his squad ahead of the Hibernian clash this afternoon and beyond.

We all know James Forrest limped off during Celtic’s win in Latvia on Thursday. The Celtic manager very quickly ruled James out of today’s fixture against the Edinburgh side but did go into a bit more detail with the extent of the injury; James could be out for quite some time and could even be a doubt for the Glasgow Derby in mid-October.

“We’re waiting on a scan. He’s got bone bruising on his ankle which can be very sore, tender and uncomfortable. He’s definitely out for Sunday.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“Do I think he’ll struggle to make the Scotland game? Yes, I do”

The Scotland game is right before the first Glasgow Derby game of the season. Celtic might want to wrap the midfielder up in cotton wool before it, hence why Lenny is effectively ruling James out of international duty.

If the winger is ruled out for a large part of October, the Celtic manager might have to delve into the transfer market for a position he wasn’t focusing on as the window winds down.
