Giakoumakis Update

Ange Postecoglou has delivered a post-match update on Giakoumakis after the striker came off in the first half against St Johnstone with a hamstring injury.

The Greek striker grabbed the second goal of the game but shortly after came off struggling with a hamstring injury. Given how much of an impact the big man has had on Celtic’s season it would be a sore one to lose him for the run-in and even the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Speaking to Celtic fan media after the game, Ange said:

“I’m not really sure at the moment. He didn’t think it was too bad but he did feel something, so obviously it’s always a concern. He’s had an enormous load over the last few weeks carrying that frontline. I’m hoping he’ll still be available for us in the run-in.”

Celtic steamrolled the saints 7-0 and stamped their authority on the top of the table with just five games remaining.

The bhoys have been incredible since January and are closing in on one of the most sweetest title wins of recent times. From rebuild no hopers to champions would be quite the story.

We can’t get complacent and we won’t but all signs point to Celtic securing the title in the final five games.

Hopefully Giak is in among the team for those games.
