REPORTS today suggest Steven Gerrard has been running the rule over longterm Celtic target John McGinn after being advised on the player by the head of recruitment.
McGinn has been heavily linked with Celtic since Brendan Rodgers came in and has been complemented by the Celtic manager on several occasions – but Rodgers has always stopped short of putting an offer in.

Neil Lennon and Hibs have put a massive transfer fee on the midfielder which has deterred clubs from getting serious until now.
It remains to be seen if Celtic are still interested but John could get a move in the summer with English clubs monitoring his progress.
We don’t think too many Celtic fans would lose sleep if John went elsewhere. The money Hibs want would be better spent elsewhere.
Quoted at £4.5million – We don’t see the Ibrox club forking out that cash either I’m afraid Stevie.
