Celtic and the decision makers at the club now know when next season starts, the winner of the SPFL will get an automatic place in the Champions League and all the riches it brings.

When Celtic enter the Champions league qualifiers next season, in the non-Champions path route, it’s going to be a struggle to get anywhere near the playoff. The aim of the game for the Hoops would be to secure Europa League football.

However, by winning next seasons league title, there would be no qualifiers, no early starts and a massive cash windfall. The stakes haven’t been so high for such a very long time.

Winning the SPFL unlocks so much cash, it would be negligible for the Bhoys board and new set up not to throw everything they can at it to win.

Dominic McKay will be aware of the importance of winning any league title but the next one in-particular could help propel the club into a new era.

If we start building a team for Europe, the title will be contested well with a good chance of Celtic FC coming out on top. We need to be ambitious.
