Gustaf Lagerbielke’s first year with Celtic was far from ideal. Highly rated when he arrived from Sweden last summer, the central defender made just 10 appearances during his first campaign in Glasgow, scoring once.

He was set for the exit door in January but amid injuries, Brendan Rodgers wanted Lagerbielke to stay.
This summer, talk of a potential departure has died down, with the defender playing a part in the Hoops’ pre-season.
He was out through injury for the Bhoys’ first two friendlies with Ayr and Queen’s Park but has since recovered to make the USA tour.
Lagerbielke played the last half-hour of the Celts’ clash with DC United at the weekend and has seemed to enjoy his time in the States so far.
Similar to Matt O’Riley, he took to Instagram on Sunday evening to share a few snaps of the trip:

Competition at centre-back in the Celtic team is rife. Lagerbielke rarely got a look-in last term, but it remains to be seen whether that will be the case again this time around.
