Frimpong Update is Great News for Celtic

The chances of securing a financial windfall from the sale of Jeremie Frimpong appear to be significantly increasing, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona reportedly entering the race for the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that both Bayern and Barca have held meetings with the 22yearold‘s agent, potentially sparking a threeway battle for the Dutchman‘s services.

Manchester United has been suggested as the most likely destination for Frimpong, with Aaron WanBissaka likely leaving Old Trafford this summer, creating a need for competition for Diogo Dalot.

Leverkusen are said to be demanding up to £50 million for the former Man City youngster, leaving Celtic to potentially collect a £15 million windfall, due to the 30 per cent sellon clause in the deal that took Frimpong to Germany in the January 2021.

Celtic fans will be hoping that a bidding war kicks off so that the club can generate some extra cash to reinvest in the team.
