French Ligue 1 side, Rennes, have reportedly told Celtic they must pay around £4.3 million to secure the services of right-back Brandon Soppy.
As reported by Sun Sport, according to French media outlet L’Equipe, Rennes have given Celtic their asking price for the defender, whose contract comes to an end next summer.
The report also claims that Celtic are particularly interested in bringing Soppy to the club, but sides from Italy and England also remained interested in the 19-year old.
Right-back is very much a problem position at this stage for Ange Postecoglou. Although he brought in Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday, it is unclear if Ange sees his future in that position.
The highly-rated French youngster would go a long way to adding to the 55-year old’s options at the back.
With competitive fixtures, such as Champions League qualifiers just around the corner, fingers crossed we can see some more movement in this deal in the coming days.
