Free Transfer – Celtic Urged to Sign Former Champions League Winner

Former footballer turned BBC pundit Tam Mcmanus made a suggestion yesterday evening that Celtic should take the out of contract John Terry for a season to steady the defensive ship and as ludicrous this may have seemed at the start of the window, there are many Celtic fans who think it could be a good idea.

The 37-year-old is without a club after leaving Aston Villa in the summer and is yet to find a new club.

Some believe if he’s not going to retire, coming in and playing the season with Celtic and helping the young defenders progress would be a no-brainer.

It would be a signing like Rodgers made two seasons ago when he brought Kolo Toure to Celtic Park. The Ivory Coast man didn’t start every game but he did a job for the club and eventually settled down as a coach when he decided to hang up his boots.

Something similar could help Celtic at the minute but it’s by far ideal.

But if the question is – could a former Premier League and Champions League winner help our youngster? The answer is quite simply, yes.
