There is growing speculation that Celtic Women manager Fran Alonso could soon leave the club. According to The Equalizer, Houston Dash has agreed terms with the Hoops for the Spanish gaffer.
It is said that an announcement is expected soon for Alonso to become the new Head Coach of the club that plays their football in the top flight of America, the NWSL.
In his three and a half years at Celtic to date, Alonso has enjoyed vast success. The 47-year-old won the Scottish Cup twice, as well as the League Cup once. Under his stewardship, the Ghirls also qualified for the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and finished runners-up in the SWPL twice.
Alonso has been adored by the supporters at Celtic throughout his time at the club. His passion got many on his side, but he has ensured his team played entertaining, attacking football, too.
For many involved with the club, it will be disappointing to see Alonso depart. He is arguably the greatest manager Celtic Women have had, but the search for a new one will promptly begin once his move to the States officially goes through.
