Four Separate Goal Scorers as Bhoys win 4-1 in Portugal

Goals from Hatate, Abada, Summers and Oh made it a comfortable win for Celtic on Saturday morning against local Portuguese side Portimonense. The bounce match finished 4-1, giving the bhoys a good workout.

Unlike midweek, Celtic kept us updated with the score during the game on their Twitter feed. They never told the support who was in the starting lineup and who played and didn’t play.

It’s the frustrating nature of a behind-closed-door game; this is just for fitness at the moment and for the new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to get a look at the players up close.

The hoops will be heading to Japan shortly to continue their pre-season, playing Yokohama and Osaka while in the country. We will get lots more information on these fixtures.

The club did roll out some post-match interviews after the game against Portimonense this morning. Brendan Rodgers spoke to Celtic TV, as did Greg Taylor.

Rodgers is delighted with the work done during the Portugal training camp: “We’ve had a fantastic week, so to finish off with a decent performance and a good result for the guys, even though that’s not the most important thing at this stage, I was really pleased.”
