Former Celtic star and treble winner, recently opened up about his current contract situation with Bournemouth. The playmaker, who made 36 appearances and scored twice last season, helping the Cherries avoid relegation under Gary O’Neil, is now facing an uncertain future under new boss Andoni Iraola.
In an interview with the Daily Echo, Christie expressed his contentment with life in Bournemouth, especially now that he has a baby. “No discussions yet, but I’m more than happy. Especially with the baby now, I love living in Bournemouth,” he said. This sentiment extends to his family as well, who he says are “nice and settled” in the coastal town.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his contract, Christie is not letting it distract him from his performance on the pitch. He stated, “I’m not really thinking about that right now. Obviously, the pre-season is pretty tough, so you just need to get the head down and keep working hard.”

Christie’s primary focus is to impress Iraola, who recently took over as Bournemouth’s manager. He believes that his performance will speak for itself and potentially lead to contract discussions. “My main hope is to impress the new boss as much as I can. If that leads to talks about a new contract, so be it. I’ll be looking forward to that hopefully.”
Celtsarehere understands Celtic made more money off Bournemouth at the end of last season due to a clause in Ryan’s contract that landed Celtic a bonus for the club staying in the EPL.
It will be interesting to see where Ryan lands next. Once upon a time, Brendan Rodgers gave him his big break at Celtic. As fate would have it, the Irishman has returned to the club.
Ryan was a favourite among the Celtic support, but we don’t thin there would be too many people clamouring for the club to re-sign him at any point. He did well while in Glasgow and has achieved his dream of playing in the EPL. We wish Ryan and his family the best.
